Guy
Ferrer’s work reflects our metaphysical preoccupations
and illustrates his research into the symbolic dimension of
man.
His unending quest into the meaning of existence, his sharp
cognizance of the precocity of time, drive Guy Ferrer naturally
to paint and sculpt man’s passage through time, rather
than man’s representation.
Therefore, he offers us shadows, silhouettes sharpened and
sparse, or anonymous faces, which evoke the ephemeral nature
man, traversing a space of “memory” and hope of
eternity.
A reflection on “Time” and spirituality constitutes
the force and body of his work.
For many years his work has driven him to the exploration
of the body, the cognizant tool and the means to apprehend
the spiritual.
